Drapery Fabric Calculator (Lined)

Lined drapery is heavier and more formal than an unlined curtain: fuller fullness ratios, a deeper header for pinch or goblet pleats, and — the part unlined-curtain calculators skip — a full lining yardage that tracks the face fabric width for width, but not for pattern-repeat matching. This calculator totals face fabric and lining separately.

    Typical sizes

Lined drapery is usually cut at 2.5× fullness for a tailored pinch pleat. Standard lining is unpatterned, so it needs no repeat rounding even when the face fabric does — that alone often saves a full repeat of lining fabric compared with buying it to match the face yardage.

    Where this goes wrong

Interlining (a middle flannel layer for blackout or extra body) needs its own yardage on top of face and lining — this calculator covers face-plus-lining only; if you're interlining, add a third lining-equivalent quantity. Pattern repeat only affects the face fabric, not the lining, so don't over-order lining to match.

    Seam allowance

Header allowance for pinch/goblet pleats runs 15–25 cm (6–10 in); hem allowance for lined drapery is typically deeper, 20 cm (8 in), for weight and drape.
